Doctor My Eyes ジャクソン・ブラウン (Jackson Browne)

In 2016年になってSongfacts.comのDaily Top 10にこの曲が登場しました。大半の方はこの曲をご存じないと思いますし私も知りませんでした。曲は明るいのですが歌詞の内容はやや暗く，偏見と不正に満ち溢れた世界とそれまで格闘してきた主人公が語っています。歌詞に登場する「空」は「夢」や「理想」といったものを表していると思います。
In 2016, this song appeared in Daily Top 10 list on Songfacts.com.  Probably many of you don't know this song and neither did I.  Despite the upbeat sound, the lyrics are a bit gloomy.  In the song the protagonist says he has been struggling with a chaotic world where injustice and prejudice are commonplace.  I think 'the sky' in the lyrics represents something like dream or ideal.

（余談）

元々Jackson Browneは，助けを求めながらも手遅れになってしまった人間を主人公にしてこの曲を書いたようですが，あまりに内容が暗すぎるとレイベルが難色を示したため，人生で様々な試練を経験した主人公が最終的に自分の運命を受け入れるという内容に変更したんだとか。
