にもかかわらず，なんとなく説得されて感動してしまうのは，たとえほんの短い間であったとしても，誰しも人生でこういう風に感じたことが一度や二度はあるからであって，それゆえこういったテクニックが効果的なのでしょう。
Hyperbole and exaggeration are powerful tools for songwriting. especially in love songs. The narrator says, "take my life, I would give it all, I would sacrifice." In our rational mind, we all know it's not true. It's not very likely that we're in such a situation in our daily lives in the first place.
Still it sounds so true to us and strikes our heart chord somehow. These techniques are so effective because all of us feel that way once or twice before, even for a briefest moment.

相手が「心の奥を覗いてみた」結果，そこに主人公以外がいたということも十分考えられるのでは・・・と思ってしまう私ですが，妙に冷静なこの辺りに個人的な問題が潜んでいるのではないかと思われてなりません。
